RICH IN TRADITION
The Omi Gems family dates back five generations to Burma in the early 1900s. Decades of wars and close escapes from political unrest followed. With a handful of gems, a brilliant outlook, and a clear mindset, Omi Nagpal and his loving wife, Preeti, came to the United States. There, they founded and built a loose gemstone house that over time became synonymous with the worlds most valuable jewels. Now, the Los Angeles-based company is lead by Omis son, Niveet. As head designer, Niveet has continued the familys reputation and high integrity through the Omi Privé fine jewelry collection.
Niveet carries his familys deep appreciation for the inherent beauty of each gem. Through multiple manufacturing destinations and years of testing high methods of jewelry fabrication, Niveet has determined the finest craftsmanship in the United States. Though only years old, this collection stems from decades of tradition in loose colored stones. He settles for nothing less than to produce works of jewelry equivalent to the values of the gems they showcase.
A CURRENT TAKE ON AN OLD CRAFT
Every jewelry piece must reach the ultimate level of quality to bear the Omi Privé namesake; therefore, nothing is compromised along its journey. All settings are fabricated in the United States. Our designs are most often crafted by hand to meet discerning standards. Our French pavé is hand set, rather than cast.
We take pride in uniting traditional manufacturing techniques with the use of modern equipment. Most Omi Privé ring shanks are specifically formed from drawn wire, a method that dates back to Ancient Roman times. This forms a stronger, thicker concentration of metal with minimal to no porosity. All diamonds set in our designs are graded F to G in color and VS or higher in clarity. They are matched by cutting style and make, ensuring superior quality amongst even the smallest of stones.
Our continuous manufacturing efforts are driven to meet and enrich the quality of the jewels encased. The fine settings we produce increase the high values of the gemstones.
