Every year is an exciting year in the fine jewelry industry and 2016 will not disappoint! According to the National Jeweler, there are 7 Trends to Watch in 2016 and we adore each end every one of them.
Fine jewelry trends are discovered, shared, and spread faster than ever in the fashion industry with the help of social media and the internet. While classic pieces of fine jewelry will never go out of style, new and innovative ways to show your personalized style is the direction the 2016 trends are taking.
1. Stackables/layering. The thought of adding to your collection never gets old! Personalized pieces allow for sentiment and what a wonderful way to create a collection of mementos. Anna Beck does a great job of showing us how to stack all of our jewelry.
2. Mixed metal. The millennial couples are all about mixed metals, bringing two very different and distinct pieces together to create a beautiful harmony. JudeFrances is one of our many designers that mixes metals and we just love the seamless blend.
3. Open styles. As the price of precious metal continues to rise, jewelers have taken a more open approach allowing for more skin to show through. Kwiat really showcases the wrist with their gorgeous 'Jasmine' diamond bracelet.
4. Y necklaces. A classic style that began a comeback in 2015 continues to trend. The Y necklace is both subtle and strong, allowing the piece to be more versatile. McCaskill & Company's Signature Collection has a gorgeous diamond 'y necklace.'
5. Black and white. Blackened metals are on the rise. Armenta is a line that really features darkened metals in their pieces. This recent fall/winter more designers collections are featuring this look and this trend will likely carry on.
6. Unique stones. Express yourself! Fine jewelry has taken on incredible artistic features, unique gemstone shapes or cuts, both in colored stones and diamonds. Make a statement and stand out from the rest. The millennial bride now has the opportunity to create her own conversation piece. Erica Courtney is one of our many designers who work with unique stones or shapes, like this fabulous jade dragon pendant.
7. Fanciful. This trend pulls the natural beauty, allure, and enchantment from the natural beauty that surrounds us. Wings, feathers, and animals have always represented freedom and power as well as curiosity and imagination. Oscar Heyman creates pieces that excites us, like the gorgeous butterfly.
Jewelry that pulls on peoples emotions will always have a place for customers.
